Welcome to my home on the web, the site where I bring together all my digital-age doings. I'm generally interested in creating technology that makes life easier and sometimes I even write about it. I also comment here about programming, politics, family, and whatever other random topic I come across on this wild ride we call life. Check out my programming projects and tags.

Another step back

Tuesday, February 22, 2005 5:09 PM CST We are having a bit of a setback tonight. Alex has been having trouble swallowing his secretions and they are traveling into his right lung. The doctors were going to do a "spittlegram" to see what exactly it is but he has been quite upset about the breathing problems...rightly so! So, they will wait until tomorrow. He is on a machine to help him breathe other than being intubated for now. The surgeon will be in tomorrow and then decisions will be made as to what might be causing this and what approach is needed. Please keep praying for Alex and our families.

  • from my Mom's caringbridge journal. Please note that I added a direct link to her journal (the caringbridge image) at the top of the sidebar for quick access. One correction to the above - I told my Mom the procedure is called a "spittlegram" but I guess it's actually called a "spitogram" (I haven't found any information about either of them online). Still sounds funny either way... I talked with Nurse Keryn this morning. She said during the course of the night Alexandar wasn't properly oxygenating, so they decided to intubate once again. We'll meet with the doctors later today and get an update of both short and long term plans. Please continue to keep Alexandar in your thoughts and prayers.
