Welcome to my home on the web, the site where I bring together all my digital-age doings. I'm generally interested in creating technology that makes life easier and sometimes I even write about it. I also comment here about programming, politics, family, and whatever other random topic I come across on this wild ride we call life. Check out my programming projects and tags.

Five week checkup

Report from Nurse Keryn:

  • Alexandar pulled out the breathing tube this morning at 5:30. They were able to quickly reintubate him.
  • Anaesthesia took him to the operating room around 10:00 this morning.
  • The bronchoscopy did find a lot of granulation tissue in his trachea.
  • He is still intubated, and apparently Dr. Kerschner said he'll remain intubated "for a while".
  • They were able to reposition the breathing tube into his nose, which won't be so easy to pull out on his own.
  • They will start feeds again in the next few hours.

We were planning on being there early this morning, but ended up being too exhausted to get up early, so we're planning to leave for Milwaukee shortly. Since we weren't there we didn't get a chance to talk directly with Dr. Kerschner, so now we're waiting for a followup phone call from Dr. Basir for an explanation of the findings.
