Welcome to my home on the web, the site where I bring together all my digital-age doings. I'm generally interested in creating technology that makes life easier and sometimes I even write about it. I also comment here about programming, politics, family, and whatever other random topic I come across on this wild ride we call life. Check out my programming projects and tags.

Monday evening bronchoscopy

Amy and I arrived at the hospital at 2:00 Monday. Dr. Moran was trying to insert the PICC line when we got there, so we waited in the family lounge for almost an hour until they called us down. The bronchoscopy was originally scheduled for 3:00, but after several delays, they finally wheeled Alexandar down to the operating room at 8:00. Only about half an hour passed before Dr. Kerschner arrived back in the room to give us the update. He had good news - there has been a reduction of scar tissue blocking his airway! Kerschner said while we "still might not win the war," we did win an important battle. He remains "cautiously optimistic" that healing will continue and we'll be on our way home "soon". So the next plan is to go back to the operating room Friday and perform both a tracheostomy and a g-tube insertion.
